Challenge
Buying a house is one of the most important decisions that someone makes during their lifetime, within a short time-span they have to make a number of important decisions that have consequences for many years. Mortgage loan advisers are seldom able to give sound advice quickly. Aside from this, applicants for mortgage loans are often faced with unexpected surprises, which could negatively impact the purchase process of their home. All of this can be traced back to the complex stream of information on which the mortgage loan adviser has to base their advice.
Solution
The project’s objective is to improve access to relevant information sources, necessary to formulate a sound advice and a favourable and quick mortgage loan quotation. Also increasing the efficiency of the processes of coming to a sound mortgage loan advice and processing the application for a mortgage loan.
Ordina has developed an internet-based mortgage loan advice application by utilising its specific knowledge of the mortgage loan market and has ensured that this solution is compatible with the clients’ existing technology. In future, clients will be getting faster and more accurate quotations, based on a solid personal advice. The mortgage loan process has become more efficient, standardised and less prone to mistakes.
Our client
The internet-based mortgage loan advice application is a mortgage loan quotation package aimed at supporting the front office (advice) and the mid office (acceptation). This involves processes ranging from the initial client contact where the system offers support during the advice discussions, the production of the quotation and the acceptance thereof.
Result
Front office:
Previously advisers had to gather information from a number of different sources. Now all of the information has been integrated in one application. That simplifies the advice discussion with clients and accelerates the quotation process. This used to take weeks, but now it is possible within an hour of two.
Mid office
For the mid office this means the automation of a process. Previously administrative personnel had to do checks with the cadastre, notaries, etc. Now these checks are done automatically. This accelerates the process and improves its efficiency. The chance of making mistakes is also reduced.
Back office
For the Back office this means that information is gathered in a fixed format and structure and is captured subsequently. This manual process has been replaced by an automated one. Conversion is realised with hardly any discrepancies and a higher degree of consistency.
